Otranto: the magnificent seaside town of Otranto is a distance of 14 km. It is famous for its kasbah-like historic centre, its 11th-century Romanesque cathedral featuring a mosaic pavement which is among the largest and most mysterious ones in the world and illustrates the Tree of Life and the Zodiac star signs. All over the surrounding landscape, remains of the early Christian civilization of great artistic and historical value can be seen, as well as paleolithical ”Dolmen” and ”Menhir” specimens, the origin of which is still unknown. From the bay one can view the majestic high town walls. Downtown Otranto offers many handicraft stores and fish restaurants.
Only 5 km from the property are the spectacular ”Alimini” beaches, with clear waters and sand dunes that can reach a height of 15 m. Boat excursions to the grottoes and guided tours to the most prominent monuments of the area are available. The property is surrounded by lush vegetation and stretches of olive trees. There are bike lanes for tourists to enjoy the countryside at its best.
